houses do not need a road connection to supply population therefore you can maximize space by packing 4 shacks into 4x4 squares the money that shacks supply is worthless never have idle goods buildings if you can't fund constant good production, tear down the goods building and put up money making buildings you need to logon a lot, especially at the beginning a lot of the productions are 4 hour productions, so if you sleep for 8 hours, well you just lost 50% of your production you can do it under the time limit without getting up every 4 hours, but it will take longer I haven't found any of the advice sources on doing Vikings to be very useful.
